REVIEW: X-Men Origins:Wolverine. Origins

Superhero Origin stories for me are always the most exciting.  And I think Hollywood’s starting to see things my way with the success of Batman Begins, Casino Royale, and Star Trek.  So, we finally get to see what made Logan become the warm and fuzzy Wolverine that we all know and love.  The Origin comics from marvel came out in ‘01 and they amazing.  Reread the books right before I went to the movie…  which probably was the WORST thing I could have ever done.  Because this movie was NOT THE BOOK!  The first few seconds of the movie I was all in, super excited and as it went on, I just kept getting more and more disappointed…  If I had to see Hugh Jackman do his Michael Phelps impersenation one more time… I was going to screammm!!!

Now let’s talk casting, Jackman has definitely proved himself in the X-Men flicks so he’s a no brainer bub.  Sabertooth… ok so if I’m not mistaken he was already seen in the first X-Men flick played by Tyler Mane, also known as Mike Meyers in the Halloween franchise… now played by Leiv Schriver who was the highlight of the flick for me!  He’s got that rugged crazed edge that was needed to stand up next to Wolverine. Liev Schreiber as Sabertooth

Now let’s talk Gambit.  I was so excited about finally seeing Gambit on the big screen, he’s being played by NBC’s Friday Night Lights Taylor Kitch, who’s def got the charm and the hair for the part.  But what was up with that on again off again pretend Cajun accent.  I mean he didn’t even have very many lines!?!?  Couldn’t they afford an accent coach for him!? Ughhh, fortunately Kitsch has Gambit’s charm and I still love him…

Taylor Kitsch as Gambit

Knowing all of this… I would still say… go see this one.   What can I say, I am sucker for the bad boys and Wolverine is the baddest…
