Migraine Cure… a little, “Do You Wanna Date My Avatar?” February 14, 2010

Ok, so this weeks been a little rough on me…  Maybe it’s my self-imposed caffeine fast induced migraine?  Maybe it’s because I’m missing TED and D.I.C.E.???  Or maybe it was because this week was Valentine’s Day and like most geeks… I am SINGLE!  WTF?  haha

Let’s just put it this way… I couldn’t sleep woke up at 4 am… and decided the best option was to go the gym and take a super intense spin class… ummm yeah…  What can I say?  I was in a sleep deprived delirium…

So, after trying to dull my mind numbing headache, with American Idol, House, Facebook stalking, blog reading, House watching, gchatting… a friend of mine sent me a link to this video… I don’t know how I have missed this for so long, but it was the bright shiny spot it my day today!  So, I wanted to share it with all of you!  Cause, I know you’d want to date my avatar!  Especially since mine looks like a super really hot Na’vi!

I’ll admit I did get a little emotional during the MTV VMA tribute to Michael Jackson.  But, it made me realize how much of an impact he really had on me during my childhood.

So, I really wanted to find something that would do MJ justice.  And then my Dad, yeah I know…  Anyway, my Dad showed me this video on Youtube, and it only seemed fitting to post it here for you.  So, thanks pops!  ENJOY!!!

And yeah… that’s all one guy, Sam Tsui, singing ALL OF THE HARMONIES!!!  His friend on the left side of the stage, Kurt Schneider, adds in a little beatbox and all of the editing/production!

3.  I just love that Russell Brand tight pants and all…

4.  Completely and utterly disgusted by Kanye West- you weren’t even nominated and I don’t even think Beyonce would ever want you to do anything like that… I’m going to pray for you buddy…

5.  Lady Gaga… Super theatrical performance… maybe a little too dark for me…  or I’m not artsy enough?… I didn’t get the wheel chair, arm brace & bloody eye bit?

6.  Beyonce-  incredible performance!

7.  Muse- surprised it was their first ever US performance I’ve been listening to them for a while now!  Such a great band!

8.  Pink… what was she wearing?  But, really cool Cirque du Soleil thing, and I think she was singing live which is insaneeee!

9.  Beyonce is sooo classy!!!

10.  Taylor Swift is so adorable and couldn’t have wished for a better PR stunt!

Justin Timberlake tries Acting… again… August 4, 2009

So, when Justin Timberlake struck out on his own from ‘N Sync, I was one of the skeptics.  I loved that blonde curly haired cutie… But, I wasn’t totally sure he could make it on his own.

Justified was released and I loved every song…  Then Justin brought “SexyBack” and everyone was 100% on board the Timberlake wagon with FutureSex/LoveSounds.  As if that wasn’t enough, he started making appearances on songs with Nelly Furtado, Ciara, and his bff Timbaland, spinning even more musical gold.  He has his own fashion line, William Rast, a restaurant in New York City , Southern Hospitality, and then came the comedic jackpot on SNL and an Emmy award for … you know what “In a Box.”

It seems like everything this kid touches turns to gold.  But, why oh why can’t being a musician with the Midas touch be enough for you Justin?  ugh… No, you have to keep trying to be an ACTOR…

First, he tested out the waters with Model Behavior… A fluffy little teen movie.  Ok, not too bad…  But, he really wanted to work that acting muscle and moved on to Alpha Dog…   Black Snake MoanLove Guru… all of which made me cringe a little more than the one before.  And now you’re trying again…  WHEN WILL IT END?!?

Here’s the preview for JT’s latest acting attempt, The Open Road… Love you JT, but please please please stick to the music!

I mean I guess it’s not as bad as Glitter right?  hehe, I promise you I’ll post some acting gold shortly!

Ok, so I know usually when you hear about actors getting into music it’s a baaaad thing, and who would ever think Cobra Starship would pair up with upper east sider Blair Waldorf aka Leighton Meester, but to my delight… they have! Good Girls Go Bad is on Starship’s latest album Hot Mess.

Is it just me or am I getting flashbacks to the episode with Blair dancing at Chucks burlesque club… check it out for yourself….

I mean REALLLY cause 5 would just be silly.

Been a while since a song made me want to break out my robot dance moves!  But this one makes me want to break ’em out with a little boom boom pow!   Now if only when I did them I could look like Fergie and sang me a hot little hubby like Josh Duhamel.

Desolation Row- My Chemical Romance

If you haven’t heard of Watchmen, you must be living under a rock! Not only is it the greatest graphic novel of all time, but the film version directed by Zack Snyder isn’t too shabby either! Zack wanted to be sure that comic fans were happy with the flick and that music lovers were too! So, he decided to only use songs that were time specific to the book, anything before 1985. With one small exception… My Chemical Romance.

Lead Singer Gerard Way is a huge comic book fan, he even has his own series the Umbrella Academy (one of my favs), so when the opportunity to cover Bob Dlyan’s Desolation Row for Watchmen came along they were all in! This videos got some serious raw energy that Rorschach would be totally into! Here’s My Chemical Romance with Desolation Row.
